About
Irene is inspired by William Wegman's unique look at pet photography. He uses the subject he loves the most, his dogs, and arranges them in a way that is distinguishable from other artists. Irene learned about him in a photography class when she gave a presentation on animal photography. She focused on him because of his ability to capture something so unique, as well as her love of animals. It is a completely different subject than a Elmira College buildings that stand still, but studying Legman's photos was a beneficial reminder to "capture what you love." Photography gives us the opportunity to get to know our subject on a closer level. Irene states, "Through photography I have seen beauty that I have always taken for granted in the past. If I have the opportunity, my next project would be to focus either on my own pets as William Legman did, or to focus on the natural beauties the world has to offer. Because I have a passion for animals and traveling, I hope to focus on those subjects in the future."
